About DataTrain

The original purpose of this site was to provide training resources on collecting and reporting of data in the public mental health system in Washington State.

Original DataTrain home page
An early screen grab of the original DataTrain website (circa 2004).

This was an output of the Data Completeness and Consistency Workgroup (DCCW). This workgroup consisted of a diverse group of stakeholders of the mental health system and included client advocates and clinical, data, fiscal, and administrative staff of community mental health agencies, Regional Support Networks, and Department of Social and Health Services. One of the products produced by this workgroup was the first iteration of the Service Encounter Reporting Instructions which continues to be updated and used by the public behavioral health system in Washington State.

Since those early beginnings, the DataTrain site has continued to provide resources for the behavioral health community to consitently report data within Washington State.
